Save the Money!

Not "Save the Whales" or "Save the Planet", "Save the Money"!!! That is all anyone is trying to do right now. With unemployment rates up, gas prices up, and the house and stock market going down the drain...this is the one thing on everyones mind.

I have heard a few helpful tips lately and implement a couple myself. So you can take it or leave it, but I'm doing my best to take it anywhere I can!

Here are the areas that I can think of to save the cash money-

In your Home:

1. Turn off your water heater while you are away at work. If not off, adjust the temp to 120. Otherwise you are paying to heat your water all day.
2. Turn your air up or set the temp to adjust while you are out.
3. Unplug any appliances not in use (i.e. computer, toasters).
4. Turn your lights off
5. Keep the blinds closed

In your car:

1. Fill up your tires
2. Loose the extra baggage
3. Drive slow, accelerate slowly (I don't usually practice these)
4. Buy gas at the coolest time of day (morning and evening)
5. Close windows while driving on the highway

Buying Food:

1. Use Coupons (I know it seems cheap, but who cares)
2. Then hit the stores when they have double or triple coupon day!
3. Only buy foods that are on sale
4. Share meals while eating out. Bryan and I do this all the time! You eat and pay less.
5. Only buy what you really need (the opposite of the Wal-mart mentality) Go into the store and try and stick to your list....very tough.

Beautiful Crystal

Loving.Cheerful.Caring.Smiley.Sweet.Inspirational.Empowering.
Lovely.Pure.Godly Woman. This is Crystal, my best friend. She is so precious to me and I had the joy of spending time with her last night. Her caring spirit, motivational words, and wisdom are so up-lifting!! Basically Mama did a good job of raising her!

I just wanted to take a moment and thank her for all that she has done in my life and how she has been there throughout the years. She is like family to me and I love her to death. She never stops caring, never stops supporting, and she is always there to talk or cry it out. This girl is great! If you know her then bless you, if you don't then you should!

Crys, you are a doll and I love you dearly! Thanks for everything that you are!!!

3I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,

4Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, - Phil 1:3-4

CANNONBALL!

One word- Cannonball! This word means two things to me: Dad doing endless cannonballs in the pool when we were kids and Ron Burgundy jumping off the diving board claiming that he has an announcement to make, Cannonball!!!

Well this past Sunday for Dad's B-day Bryan had the brilliant idea of doing what Dad loves best, cannonballs with the kids. He said it would be awesome if we did an action shot of the classic cannonball. With ten of us lined up to take the plunge here is a glimpse of what it looked like that glorious day:

Happy Birthday Dad!

My dad is an amazing man. I have admired him and respected him my whole life. He is a wonderful father of 6, yes that is correct 6, a real-life Brady Bunch. Dad has served our country as a Colonel in the Marines for 30 years! He is an honorable and Godly man who is loved by everyone that knows him!

This Sunday, June 8th, is Dad's 53rd Birthday! hats off to Big TC! We love you so much Dad! I hope you have a great one! Thank you for all that you do and instill in our lives!

What is this blogging?

Well somehow after being suckered into Brooke & Freeland and Rachel's blog I became slightly attracted to this blogging idea. I work for a website design company don't you think I should be on top of the technology curve. We'll try this online journaling and see what it leads to. So for now I guess all I can say is to be continued....
