Yikes- Cake Prices

Bryan and I had our first cake tasting this past weekend. It was quite an experience. He is not much of a cake fan so he rated most cakes a 3 on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the best). I think this may have hurt the ladies feelings a bit when Bryan made the bitter beer face after each bite.

I had a major stomach ache after the tasting and swore those off from here on out. I will have to take Emily or some other cake fan, maybe miss Rachel with me next time for their opinions.

On top of all those wonderful feelings the quote for the cake was $700. I think we'll do cupcakes...totally kidding. However I am down with someone who does cakes on the side that can deliver a yummy pretty cake to our wedding under that outrageous amount.

If anyone knows a cake lady or man please let me know. I would rather help out a friend of a friend anyways.

Happy Hump Day!

Shoot girl! You got off easy at only $700! When I was quoting prices at D-Cakes, they were usually well over $1000 (bride & grooms). Where did you go? Definitely let me know if you need my expert cake tasting experience in the future!!!

Well, we got really lucky in that Publix in Florida makes great wedding cakes. You might try Cost-Co - I hear they actually make good cakes and the price is probably more reasonable.

This is who we used for our cakes: http://thecakeguys.com/index2.html

They were AMAZING! Our cakes were delicious, beautiful, and tasted just as great a year later on our anniversary!
